Why volunteer?

Give back to your community
Be a role model for girls and young women
Grow the skills employers want to see on CVs
Grow your network of friends and like-minded people
Share your Guiding experiences with the next generation
Watch young girls grow into confident, adventurous women

There are lots of ways to be involved:

Work with girls

Be a role model for girls and young women teaching them valuable teamwork, leadership and life skills. We have developed an amazing programme – most activities are easy to run, and we provide you with all the training you need. You can choose the age group you work with and you can take on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly commitment. We also have an on-line Guiding option.

Work with adults

Help and support others to deliver amazing opportunities for girls and young women. You’ll support a team of local volunteers by visiting units, talking to leaders and parents, and helping us keep track of the amazing Guiding happenings in your local area. You would be committing to doing something every week, but when and how would be up to you.

Casual Volunteer

How about joining our volunteer pool? This is for people who love our vision of inspiring and empowering girls and young women but can’t make a regular commitment. You can work with girls or adults. There are opportunities to support at events and activities (we will train you on the day). Or maybe you have a skill you would love to share - abseiling, lifesaving, fishing, catering, event planning, firefighting, kayaking, science, engineering or anything else! We would love to talk to you.

We are giving girls opportunities to get outdoors and challenging them with activities they don’t usually get to do. Showing girls that they really can do anything
