WE DID IT!
In Leaders’ Link 10 March 2022 we let you know that Helen Jamieson (and her son Nathan) of Hawke’s Bay and Katy Day of Wellington, had created a GirlGuiding NZ team to participate in the annual Shave for a Cure campaign.
The shaves happened last Tuesday – Helen and Nathan’s at Pippins, and Katy’s by friends – and we would like to thank the members of GirlGuiding NZ that have supported and donated either to our individual pages, or directly to the team. Currently we have raised almost $4,000 to support the Leukaemia and Blood Cancer Foundation – which has absolutely blown away our original stretch (or so we thought) goal of $2,500!
For anyone who may have thought about doing this, but haven’t been sure they want to take the plunge – please feel free to reach out to either of us as we are happy to talk to you about our experience. Even if you decide to do a shave at a later date, you are are still able to join our team so jump on the Shave for a Cure page, sign up and then join the GGNZ Team.
Now that you have seen we have actually done it – if you would like to donate, this can also be done to our team page (or from there you can link to our individual pages).
Thank you all so much for your support and kind words on the pictures and videos we have shared over the last week!
