Guiding Under the Covid Protection Framework

We want everyone to have a safe and fun time while Guiding. That’s why everyone who is eligible will need to have a valid Vaccine Pass to participate in Guiding activities and events from Term 1, 2022.

This means that anyone who is or will be 12 years and 3 months or over in Term 1, 2022, will need to validate their Vaccine Pass. We will update this page with information on how to do this in January. You can read more about this new policy here

All volunteers who attend in-person activities will have a valid Vaccine Pass. Parent Helpers will also need to have a valid Vaccine Pass too. We also encourage Parents or Guardians who are picking up and dropping off girls to validate their Vaccine Pass, to help to ensure we can meet the Vaccine Pass requirements outlined in the Covid Protection Framework

This new requirement is aimed at keeping girls and volunteers safe while Guiding, but will also mean that unit meetings, events and activities will be able to be held at all levels of the traffic light system.

However, we know some people are feeling anxious about participating in person, or do not have a Vaccine Pass and would like to continue with Guiding. We are an inclusive organisation and have options for girls and volunteers to participate in virtual Guiding, with Explore or Aotearoa Rangers. Please email [email protected] if you would like to take part in one of our virtual programmes.

We will regularly be updating our Frequently Asked Questions about Guiding Under the Covid Protection Framework, so please have a read of these. If you have any further questions, please get in touch with us at [email protected]
