We are delighted to announce that we are now accepting applications from Leaders to be part of the delegation to attend the 2022 Asia Pacific Region Conference. The Conference will be virtual, hosted by The Girl Guides (Girl Scouts) of Thailand and takes place 10-14 August. Due to the time difference, sessions will be held between 2pm and 7pm for NZ attendees.
We are seeking a young leader aged 18-30 to be one of our two Delegates. If you are interested, you do need to be available to attend the entire conference.
We have also been offered several places for ‘Observers’ to attend alongside our usual delegation and we are keen that Leaders of any age with a strong interest in global governance have the opportunity to attend. You would not need to attend the whole event.
Participation in the AP Conference is a great opportunity to represent GirlGuiding NZ at a regional level. Members of the team representing New Zealand, will work together to put forward positions and ideas for the growth of our movement in the AP Region. The conference will provide opportunities to work with other Member Organisations of the AP Region to share good practice and common challenges and identify opportunities to work together.
At this time, we do not have an agenda, but can share that a Young Women’s Pre-Event, for members of the conference delegation, will be held prior to the conference on 6 and 7 August.
Registration fees will be paid by GirlGuiding NZ.
If you are a Young Leader aged 18-30 and would like to be considered for a Delegate role, please send an Expression of Interest outlining the contribution you can make to the Delegation, how you would benefit from attending, whether you are interested in attending the Young Women’s Pre-event and confirming your availability.
If you are a Leader (of any age) interested in being an Observer, please express your interest with a no more than 200 words email describing how you think you would benefit from attending (and whether you are interested in attending the Young Women’s Pre-Event, should it apply).
