This centre offers all you need to host a wide range of events

Taha Wahia-Woodside is a GirlGuiding New Zealand Manukau Centre. The facility is a planned multi-purpose building to allow the widest possible use to the Guiding organisation and the local community.

Facilities

Hall

  • White board available (on the wall)
  • Projector screen hanging from ceiling on right hand side
  • Small portable stage
  • Fire Safety Capacity limit is 200 people
  • Height in hall is 4.5 metres (able to fit some bouncy castles)
  • No smoke machines allowed

Boardroom (off main entrance foyer)

  • Chairs for 15 people
  • Tables to seat 12 people
  • White boards (two attached to the wall)

Two meeting rooms (upstairs)

  • Chairs and tables from the main hall are able to be taken up for the duration of hire, but must be returned at the end of the hire period to the table and chair storage room
  • White boards (attached to the wall)

Bathroom facilities

  • Three toilets off the main entrance foyer, one with disabled access.
  • Two showers upstairs

Kitchen

  • Large Fridge and Freezer
  • Electric oven
  • Microwave
  • Jug
  • Steriliser
  • Trolley
  • No utensils, crockery or kitchenware are supplied at this facility

Equipment Available

  • Chairs for 180 people
  • Trestle tables 26 Standard trestle table size – 75cm x 180cm, and 3 smaller trestles 80cm x 120cm (width by length, all 77cm in height)
  • Lecterns
  • Portable Whiteboard

Cleaning Equipment Supplied

  • Large brooms for sweeping hall
  • Vacuum Cleaner
  • Mops, and buckets – Please only use hot water on the floors
What you will need to bring with you
  • All food and drink, resources and equipment for your event
  • First Aid Kit
  • Cell phone for emergency purposes
  • Tea towels, dishcloths, cleaning cloths and oven mitts
  • Bath mats (if using the showers)
  • Rubbish bags to take all rubbish away with you
  • Toilet Paper for topping up (only two rolls per toilet are supplied)
Other things to note
  • There are parking spaces at the front and back of the building, however these cannot be guaranteed.
  • There is no unrestricted parking available in front of the shops next door as this a tow away area.
  • All hirers are required to vacate the building by 11.30pm. Council regulations require that the building be totally vacated by midnight.
  • All tables, chairs or other equipment must be returned to the storage areas.
  • All rooms used must be cleaned and all rubbish taken away with the hirer. All lights and heaters must be turned off.
  • You are not permitted to stick anything to the walls. This includes the use of tacks, pins or nails on the walls or floors.
  • A group hiring the building must nominate one person who will be responsible for checking the building is secure, all windows and doors are locked at the end if the hire. This person should also act as fire warden and be aware of the responsibilities that are required.
  • Entry into the basement is not permitted and this will trigger the alarm.
