This site is for outdoor education for school/youth groups only – up to and including secondary school age children.
Whakaipo Bay is a GirlGuiding New Zealand Building that sits on 2.58 hectares of fenced land, 15 minutes from the Taupo Township.
The campsite has been in existence for over 50 years and has been gradually updated. It is popular with youth and school groups – especially in the summer.
The spacious Nissan hut has a LPG gas fridge and gas stove.
There are showers in the building alongside and basic vault toilets.
There is no electricity or telephone on site, but a generator can be used and cell phone coverage is good.
Bookings are essential.
