This centre offers all you need to host a wide range of events

This site is within walking distance to the shopping centre and may other local leisure facilities and is on the bus route for easy access. Ideal facility for camps, training, group meetings, events, craft, exercise or hobby classes. The Indoor space sleeps up to 30 people.

  • No powered sites
  • Kitchen access only available if house is booked
What you will need to bring with you
  • All food and drink, resources and equipment for your event
  • First Aid Kit
  • Toilet paper for topping up, bath mats
  • Cell phone for emergency purposes
  • Tea towels, cleaning products, cloths and oven mitts
  • Rubbish bags –  all rubbish and recycling must be taken away with you
Other information
  • Off street parking is available for up to 20 cars
  • All tables, chairs or other equipment must be returned to the storage areas.
  • All rooms used must be cleaned and lights and heaters to be turned off.
  • Hirers are not permitted to stick anything to the floor or walls, for example tacks, pins or nails.
  • A group hiring the building to nominate one person who will be responsible for checking the building is secure, all windows and doors are locked at the end of the hire. This person should also act as fire warden and be aware of the responsibilities that are required.
  • Access to the campsite and buildings are only available on the days/times that have been booked. No pre-camp visits or meetings are to be made at the campsite without prior consent from the booking officer, as other groups may be using the camp and it is their right to have the camp to themselves without unscheduled visitors arriving.  
  • Campground only information:
    • If you have only booked the campsite, you will need to have all your own cooking and dishwashing equipment as access to the kitchen can only be gained by booking the house.
    • There are no powered sites.
Fees
  • As Raroa is a Guiding Hall, Guiding groups can use the facilities at a discounted rate. The fees on the website are for non-Guiding Groups.   Guiding Groups – please contact Barbara Hamer ([email protected]) for details.
  • Please liaise with the Raroa Manager as soon as possible if you wish to inspect the facility before confirming your booking.
  • If an error in the booking has been made, the final costs may be different to those indicated in the initial enquiry – this will be communicated to you as soon as confirmation of times and dates have been received.
  • Charges are ‘per hour /session’, this is for the full hour (e.g. 3.5 hours usage = 4 hours charge). Setting up / cleaning up time must be included in your hire period. 
  • Both the House and Campsite Overnight charges are per person.
  • If you have booked the campsite and you need access to the kitchen, you will need to book the house.
  • No bond is charged, however your group will be held liable for any losses or damage caused, whether or not such loss or damage was accidental / if the facilities are not left in an approved condition following your event, or if your hire time is exceeded.
