A popular venue for camps and activities, Cracroft is situated on the edge of Christchurch City in the suburb of Cashmere on a 1.4 ha property, bordering the Cashmere Stream.

The Cracroft Guiding Centre comprises of:
The Lodge
  • The Lodge is three-bedroom accommodation which sleeps up to 12.
  • There are three sets of bunk beds and one queen bed available.
  • There are also fold out beds available for use
  • The Lodge has full kitchen and bathroom facilities including one toilet.
  • Parking is available outside for up to three vehicles.
The Edna Hanafin Meeting Room
  • Kitchenette (microwave, urn and tea making facilities
  • Chairs for 28 people
  • 4 Tables to seat up to 32 people
  • White board
  • Projector screen
  • 1 toilet available for use
The Barn
  • The Barn has capacity to sleep up to 48 people and consists of a large main hall, with bunk beds upstairs and foldaway beds that can be used upstairs or downstairs.
  • There is a fully equipped kitchen which includes a fridge/freezer, electric oven, microwave, steriliser, kitchenware, cutlery, crockery and pots & pans.
  • Dining room is located off the kitchen and includes 13 trestle tables
  • Bathroom facilities consist of 6 toilets, Two with disabled access and 6 showers

Other Important Notes

What you will need to bring with you

  • All food and drink, resources and equipment for your event
  • First Aid Kit
  • Cell phone for emergency purposes
  • Rubber or disposable gloves (for cleaning)
  • Bath mats & Towels (if using the showers)
  • Sleeping bag or Sheets
  • Pillowcase

Other things to note

  • There is parking available onsite.
  • All tables, chairs or other equipment must be returned to the original areas.
  • All rooms used must be cleaned and all rubbish placed in outdoor bin provided. All lights and heaters must be turned off.
  • You are not permitted to stick anything to the walls. This includes the use of tacks, pins or nails on the walls or floors.
  • All groups hiring the building are required to nominate one person to be responsible for checking the building is secure and all windows and doors are locked at the end if the hire. This person should also act as fire warden and be aware of the full terms and conditions and responsibilities that are required.
  • Cracroft Guiding Centre is a completely smoke free site
