Work History
I began my professional journey while still in high school, working for renowned New Zealand fashion designer Trelise Cooper, where I gained three years of experience. After completing high school, I travelled through South America, working as a translator and airport lounge attendant, which strengthened my communication skills and cultural awareness.
Upon returning to New Zealand, I completed a Diploma in Sports Science and worked as a Supervisor and Event Manager. During this time, I decided to pursue my long-term goal of studying Psychology at university. My academic focus centred on New Zealand communities, particularly Indigenous communities, which led to my role as an Administrator within the Pacific Regional Team at Counties Manukau.
After completing my degree, I worked as an Administrator for a clinical research company, with the aim of transitioning into research-focused roles. My combined experience in event management, supervision, and office administration subsequently led me to my current role as Training and Compliance Coordinator for Girl Guiding New Zealand.
This role strongly aligns with my passion for community service and volunteering. I have volunteered with the SPCA, a refugee centre, and a mental health helpline. I am committed to continuing my studies with the goal of becoming a registered psychologist.
Additional info:
I was born in Chile and immigrated to Aotearoa New Zealand with my parents and four siblings at a young age. Having grown up here, Aotearoa is the place I call home. My passion for the outdoors and community initially led me to complete a Diploma in Sports Science, before I shifted focus to Psychology with an emphasis on Indigenous and Social Psychology.
I am fluent in Spanish and English and am currently learning Italian. Outside of work and study, I enjoy sewing, arts and crafts, reading, hiking, camping, and spending time with friends and family. I am actively involved in community service, volunteering with a refugee centre and working as a translator.
I lived in Wellington for three years, where I sought to build connections with other women who shared similar interests. During this time, I founded the Women’s Outdoor Group, which has since grown to over 3,000 members nationwide, creating inclusive opportunities for women to connect through outdoor activities.
