Happy Friday…
We wanted to take a moment to personally express our appreciation for the invaluable contributions you make as a part of our team. Your tireless efforts and unwavering support have not gone unnoticed. The impact you have on the lives of our young Tamariki is truly remarkable, and we are deeply grateful for your passion and kindness. The positive influence you create extends far beyond the present moment and helps shape a brighter future for those in our community.
This week is Volunteer Appreciation Week, and we want to reflect on the strength of our Guiding community together. The theme is #TheBigShoutOut, to shine a spotlight on the value that volunteers bring to our society.
Did you know that over 50% of Kiwis volunteer in some capacity? This June presents us with a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate their incredible contributions.
We encourage you to join us in giving a heartfelt shout out to the volunteers in your life who make a real difference. Share their stories and accomplishments on your social media platforms and feel free to tag us at @girlguidingnz. Let’s raise the roof on the impact volunteers have in our communities and spread their inspiring stories far and wide.
To set an example, we have already started the ball rolling by featuring a shout out to all volunteers in the Sunday Star Times on the 18th of June. We have also shared this message across all our social channels. For example, I plan to share this about one of my coleaders.
Jillian Light, your dedication to Guiding, your dependability and support over the years, your young attitude to life is inspiring. Thank you for being such a wonderful Guiding role model.
Furthermore, we are thrilled to announce and formally welcome three new members to our board. Please join us in congratulating Vicki Frewin and Michelle Cheeseman, who will serve as member representatives. Their unique perspectives and expertise will undoubtedly enrich our organization. Additionally, we extend a warm welcome to Maia Faulkner, our new Board Chair. Maia’s leadership and vision will guide us towards even greater heights. Congratulations to all three of them on their well-deserved appointments!
Have a great weekend!
