Congratulations to Michelle Cheeseman, whose nomination for the GGNZ Board was ratified by National Forum at the weekend. Michelle will be serving a three-year term.
Michelle joined GirlGuiding as a Guide following a bring a friend night and went onto get her Queens Guide before becoming a leader.
Michelle is currently a Brownie and Ranger leader as well as a Trainer/Mentor. Michelle is a very passionate unit leader who loves giving girls opportunities and seeing them achieve the badge they’ve been striving for. Michelle has held various other guiding roles including having been a local coordinator.
Michelle’s day job is in Human Resources where she is currently an HR Team leader for Ministry of Social Development. Michelle has a variety of HR experience through many different organisations including recruitment, workforce planning, contractual obligations and dealing with sensitive HR matters.
Michelle is a team player and ensures she captures the views of those around her when making suggestions/decisions. She likes to ensure everyone feels included.
When Michelle isn’t working or GirlGuiding then she can be found playing with her almost 1 year old daughter!
Michelle is very passionate about grass roots guiding and tells everyone about it! She is committed to helping navigate these challenging times for GirlGuiding NZ and ensure it grows and benefits both current and future members.
