Work History

After going to boarding school for 5 years in Taranaki, I finished a diploma in mixed media and decided I wanted to work in the outdoors and go travelling. I was a sports coach for Sport Taranaki and an outdoor instructor at Vertical Horizons & The YMCA in Wellington. During the winter in NZ, I went to Camp America for 3 summers where I ran Adventure & Leadership programs for over 500 kids a week which was incredible cultural experience. I moved to Australia shortly after to work as a Group Leader for The Outdoor Education Group.

During lockdown I came home to NZ shores, I Moved to the Waikato as a senior outdoor Instructor and studied with Adventure works for my diploma in Nature-Based adventure therapy.  My journey with Guides began when I started volunteering for my local unit in TK and on the National Board as a young leader rep which I love!  In October 2023 I took on a staff role as the Outdoor & Volunteer Development Coordinator with GGNZ. I love working in an organization that gives girls and women opportunities to enjoy activities & adventures where they can reach their potential and make a difference in the world.

Additional info:

Country town vibes are my way of life. I love being part of our local community where you’ll find me at the squash club, the gym, guides or on some kind of adventure. We also love a good road trip!  Within the Guiding world you’ll find us in our TK unit or on a discovery camp somewhere! If you’re into Outdoor things and have anything I can help with, feel free to get in touch or volunteer for a discovery trip, we would love to have you onboard!
