Asia Pacific Region Young Women in Governance Network

GirlGuiding NZ has been invited to nominate up to 3 young women (aged 18-30) for a one-year programme for young women to learn about aspects of governance and have the chance to experience governance in a supported environment.

This programme is designed to be a ‘taster’ of governance, it will introduce participants to governance within the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) and to some of the skills that they can further develop.

The Network will be convened for a period of 12 months from November 2023-November 2024.

Participants need to commit to attending a monthly 1.5hr online session and doing approximately 30 minutes of preparatory work before each session.

This programme is for young women from Member Organisations of the Asia Pacific Region of WAGGGS.

 

The programme will be divided into three phases:

Discovery – Meet each other, Learn about the different elements of governance within Member Organisations and decision-making structures within WAGGGS.

Develop – Have taster sessions in key skills identified for Governance, think about their interests and how they can further develop these within their communities and Member Organisations.

Practice– Sessions simulating Board meetings and decision-making processes.

 

If you are aged between 18 and 30 years of age you are invited to apply to GirlGuiding NZ for the opportunity to be nominated for this programme.
