We are seeking applications for the newly created role of Guiding Ambassador. There is so much happening in Guiding, and so much to celebrate! We need to honour our achievements and laud our successes and so have developed this volunteer, uniformed role which will be supported by (and report to) the Chief Executive. Working closely with the Head of Marketing and New Opportunities the Guiding Ambassador will have strong relationships with the Young Leader on the Board, the Ranger Advocacy Panel and the Girl Advisory and Participation Group.
The successful candidate will engage with girls, volunteers and staff to celebrate Guiding and share key messages within the Guiding community through social media, attending Jamboree, events (such as Vice-Regal Queens Guide presentations) and unit meetings. They will support campaigns to raise Guiding’s profile and promote the opportunities we offer, both within and outside the organisation.
While the time commitment will vary, we anticipate 3-5 hours weekly would be the norm. This appointment is for an initial three year term, with the potential to extend for a further three years. There is no fixed location for the role but you will need to travel throughout Aotearoa to attend events.
If you have experience of Guiding in a variety of leadership roles, have a passion for Guiding and a willingness to develop your skills and embrace new technologies we would love to hear from you. You will also be organised, self-motivated and an excellent communicator, embracing change and new ideas.
