Volunteer Jamboree Committee Chair 

Are you ready to take the lead in the upcoming Jamboree 2026?

We are seeking expressions of interest for a Volunteer Jamboree Committee Chair.

The purpose of the role is to oversee and successfully deliver a Jamboree in January 2026 in accordance with the terms of reference and framework to be provided.

This role works closely with the Jamboree Committee and the Events Co-ordinator. The term of this role is from the date of appointment to the delivery of the final report to the Chief Executive and Board.

About The Company

GirlGuiding New Zealand is a non-profit organisation that provides a supportive and inclusive environment for girls and young women to develop their leadership skills, build self-confidence, and learn new life skills. The organisation has a rich history in New Zealand, dating back to 1908 when the Peace Scouts for girls began. In 1928, Peace Scouts became GirlGuiding and New Zealand joined the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) as a founding member. Today, New Zealand is one of 150 countries that belong to the association.

About The Opportunity

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver grant funding targets on time and within budget.
  • Build and foster productive and mutually beneficial relationships with funders.
  • Support the Fundraising Team with other initiatives as required.
  • Lead implementation of the defined strategies, to secure grant funding from a range of sources, including community foundations, gaming machine trusts, etc.
  • Complete funding applications, track expenditures and complete accountabilities within agreed timeframes, as agreed by the Funding and Partnerships Lead.
  • Facilitate the promotion and marketing as a bequest recipient in collaboration with the Funding and Partnerships Lead

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a similar, specifically with grant applications
  • Experience in fund development including grant funding and project managing fundraising campaigns
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (preferred)
  • Financial management and budgeting skills

You will also have:

  • Ability to analyse complex environments or problems and design practical pathways and business solutions to achieve organisational objectives
  • High level of communication and relationship management skills
  • Strong relationship management and organisational skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of the needs and expectations of girls and young women
