Permanent Part-Time | Hybrid Christchurch Or Fully Remote Across NZ

About The Opportunity

The primary purpose of this position is to proactively manage event income and expenditure, ensuring all financial activity is accurately captured within our administration platform, Online Guide Manager (OGM), and maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and organisational financial policies.

Reporting directly to the Finance Team Leader, some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing end-to-end event revenue, expenses, invoicing and reconciliations
  • Monitoring outstanding event income and following up payments with volunteers and parents
  • Reviewing event budgets and documentation before approving events within OGM
  • Coordinating event payments, Purchasing Cards, refunds and authorised invoices
  • Uploading daily bank transactions and maintaining accurate information within OGM
  • Comparing event receipts, attendance records and budgets to ensure financial accuracy
  • Supporting month-end reconciliations, reporting and wider Finance and Operations teams

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum two years’ experience in a similar finance administration role
  • Experience using spreadsheets, databases and accounting software packages
  • Understanding of basic generally accepted accounting practices
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and numerical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong prioritisation, organisation and time management skills
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to also work independently
  • Strong Microsoft Office, database and general computer skills
  • Confidence working with remote teams and virtual conferencing tools

Experience within a not-for-profit environment and an understanding of the needs and expectations of girls and young women will be advantageous.
