GirlGuiding NZ proudly GIRL-LED

This means our girl members can expect to be involved in making decisions.
They will be listened to and heard as well as guided.

We have three groups of girl representatives that enable the voice of girls to be heard both within and outside GirlGuiding NZ at a local and national level.

THE NATIONAL GIRL ADVISORY AND PARTICIPATION (GAP) GROUP

The National GAP Group is nine Rangers that represent the eight regional hubs of GirlGuiding New Zealand. They meet regularly to discuss and offer their views on a range of topics which may include girl opportunities, programme content, delivery of events and the best way to communicate with members. The National GAP Group then works to reach consensus regarding the representative view which is put forward to GirlGuiding NZ governance groups.

THE AREA GIRL ADVISORY AND PARTICIPATION (GAP) GROUPS

The Area GAP are four groups of Rangers from each area of GirlGuiding New Zealand. Like the National GAP Groups, the purpose of the Area GAP groups is to represent and promote the views of girl members in each area.

THE RANGER ADVOCACY PANEL (RAP)

The Ranger Advocacy Panel (RAP) includes up to ten Rangers from around the country who meet regularly to discuss and offer their views on a range of topics to inform and be the face of GirlGuiding New Zealand’s public advocacy. The Ranger Advocacy Panel represents and promotes the views of girls from both within and outside the organisation, letting New Zealanders know what girls are passionate about and want to change.
