Commission on the Status of Women

Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is the principal global policy-making body dedicated exclusively to gender equality and the advancement of women. Every year, representatives of UN Member States gather in New York to evaluate progress on gender equality, identify challenges, set global standards, and formulate concrete policies to promote gender equality and the advancement of women worldwide.

World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) has been attending the Commission on the Status of Women for several years now, using the conference as an opportunity to advocate for the rights of girls and young women and directly engage with decision-makers. CSW provides an opportunity to speak out on behalf of 10 million Girl Guides & Scouts around the world and ensure their voices are heard.
