We start with a night walk so have your head torch handy! It’s a lovely all-weather track and is extra fun to tramp at night time. DESCRIPTION:CRITERIA: \nRangers who have achieved their Peak Award and who are aged 15 1/2 years at the time of the retreat are invited to apply for the upcoming Queen’s Guide Retreat. Participants take part in a variety of challenging and fun learning activities to extend their skills and knowledge in relation to team building\, community action\, self-evaluation\, Queen’s Guide Award recognition and joining networks. \nHOW TO APPLY: \nThere are a maximum number of places for each Queen’s Guide Retreat. Once accepted you will be sent an invite through OGM to the event. Priority is usually given to the older Rangers and/or Rangers who live closer to the location. We will advise those not selected and place their name on a waiting list. \nFull-time attendance is a requirement. \n*We are now at capacity for this event\, if you apply you will be placed onto the waitlist. We encourage anyone who has to complete their Retreat this year to please apply for another location if able* \nCOST: \nThere is a cost of $150 per girl (including GST) to attend the Queen’s Guide Retreat. DESCRIPTION:We are so excited to announce our 2022 Abel Tasman Tramping Discovery!  \n  \nThis Discovery is an opportunity for Rangers aged 12½ to 18\, as at 26 April 2022\, to tramp and explore the stunning golden beaches and native forest along the Abel Tasman Coastal Track. This is one of New Zealand’s Great Walks situated at the top of the South Island about one hour from Nelson. A reasonable level of fitness is needed. The Discovery will start and finish in Nelson.  \n  \nDate: 23 April 2022 – 28 April 2022  \nTotal Cost: $500 - there is a $150 deposit that is payable within seven days of you being accepted onto the event and the remaining $350 is payable by 22/02/2022.  \nApplication: All eligible girls have been invited through OGM\, upon acceptance of this invite you will be automatically moved to the waitlist and contacted for a leader recommendation. There are strictly 16 places for this event and acceptance isn’t guaranteed so please do not look at booking any travel until your place is confirmed. SUMMARY:Abel Tasman Tramping Discovery
DESCRIPTION:We are so excited to announce our 2022 Abel Tasman Tramping Discovery!  \n  \nThis Discovery is an opportunity for Rangers aged 12½ to 18\, as at 26 April 2022\, to tramp and explore the stunning golden beaches and native forest along the Abel Tasman Coastal Track. This is one of New Zealand’s Great Walks situated at the top of the South Island about one hour from Nelson. A reasonable level of fitness is needed. The Discovery will start and finish in Nelson.  \n  \nDate: 22 April 2022 – 27 April 2022  \nTotal Cost: $500 - there is a $150 deposit that is payable within seven days of you being accepted onto the event and the remaining $350 is payable by 22/02/2022.  \nApplication: All eligible girls have been invited through OGM\, upon acceptance of this invite you will be automatically moved to the waitlist and contacted for a leader recommendation. There are strictly 16 places for this event and acceptance isn’t guaranteed so please do not look at booking any travel until your place is confirmed. If you haven’t received the OGM invite please email events@ggnz.org.nz \n  \nWe are running two of these events: 22-27 April\, and 23-28 April. SUMMARY:WELLINGTON QUEEN’S GUIDE RETREAT 2022 – AN ANIMAL SAFARI
DESCRIPTION:CRITERIA: \nRangers who have achieved their Peak Award and who are aged 16 years at the time of the retreat are invited to apply for the upcoming Queen’s Guide Retreat. Participants take part in a variety of challenging and fun learning activities to extend their skills and knowledge in relation to team building\, community action\, self-evaluation\, Queen’s Guide Award recognition and joining networks. \nHOW TO APPLY: \nThere are a maximum number of places for each Queen’s Guide Retreat. Once accepted you will be sent an invite through OGM to the event. Priority is usually given to the older Rangers and/or Rangers who live closer to the location. We will advise those not selected and place their name on a waiting list. \nFull-time attendance is a requirement. \nCOST: \nThere is a cost of $150 per girl (including GST) to attend the Queen’s Guide Retreat. Travel costs to and from the retreat are additional and are at your own expense. Any airport shuttle transfers booked by GirlGuiding NZ will also be invoiced to you. \n  \nCut off date for registrations: 11 March\, 2022 \nPayment due: 19 March\, 2022 \n  \nREGISTRATIONS FOR THIS RETREAT ARE NOW CLOSED.

Travelling together in a team\, they must navigate around a secret course by foot\, mountain bike\, and kayak\, completing a few surprise mystery activities along the way—where no prior experience is needed! The provision of stable sit-on tandem kayaks are provided for all teams and all levels of fitness and experience are welcome.
