During the week we will be visiting Wellington Chocolate Factory for a tour and the chance to make your own chocolate\, cook meals for the homeless and competing in a Masterchef competition. In amongst this there will be the opportunity to engage in other exciting activities including visiting a community garden and helping out while having a fantastic week making new friends. \n\nDates: 13 – 17 July 2022\nTimes: Dropoff at 2pm on the 13th (please have lunch prior) pickup at 11am on the 17th\nLocation: Camp Elsdon\, 18 Raiha Street\, Porirua\nFee: $500.00 due June 10\, 2022\n\nFAQs \n\nIs travel to and from the venue arranged for me? No\, all travel to and from the venue is to be arranged for and paid by parents/caregivers. DESCRIPTION:CRITERIA: \nRangers who have achieved their Peak Award and who are aged 15 1/2 years at the time of the retreat are invited to apply for the upcoming Queen’s Guide Retreat. Participants take part in a variety of challenging and fun learning activities to extend their skills and knowledge in relation to team building\, community action\, self-evaluation\, Queen’s Guide Award recognition and joining networks. \nHOW TO APPLY: \nThere are a maximum number of places for each Queen’s Guide Retreat. Once accepted you will be sent an invite through OGM to the event. Priority is usually given to the older Rangers and/or Rangers who live closer to the location. We will advise those not selected and place their name on a waiting list. \nFull-time attendance is a requirement. \nCOST: \nThere is a cost of $150 per girl (including GST) to attend the Queen’s Guide Retreat. Travel costs to and from the retreat are additional and are at your own expense. We start with a night walk so have your head torch handy! It’s a lovely all-weather track and is extra fun to tramp at night time. SUMMARY:AUCKLAND QUEEN’S GUIDE RETREAT 2022 – AN ANIMAL SAFARI
DESCRIPTION:CRITERIA: \nRangers who have achieved their Peak Award and who are aged 15 1/2 years at the time of the retreat are invited to apply for the upcoming Queen’s Guide Retreat. Participants take part in a variety of challenging and fun learning activities to extend their skills and knowledge in relation to team building\, community action\, self-evaluation\, Queen’s Guide Award recognition and joining networks. \nHOW TO APPLY: \nThere are a maximum number of places for each Queen’s Guide Retreat. Once accepted you will be sent an invite through OGM to the event. Priority is usually given to the older Rangers and/or Rangers who live closer to the location. We will advise those not selected and place their name on a waiting list. \nFull-time attendance is a requirement. \n*We are now at capacity for this event\, if you apply you will be placed onto the waitlist. We encourage anyone who has to complete their Retreat this year to please apply for another location if able* \nCOST: \nThere is a cost of $150 per girl (including GST) to attend the Queen’s Guide Retreat. Travel costs to and from the retreat are additional and are at your own expense. There are strictly 16 places for this event and acceptance isn’t guaranteed so please do not look at booking any travel until your place is confirmed.
