Warm Fuzzy’s

Afternoon Tea discussions on the day's activities
Warm Fuzzy Tale (story)
Energiser
Story
In groups with “warm fuzzy” bags. Each person in the group, including volunteers, writes one thing on each person's bag. These comments are positive NO put downs!
Reporting back option given to children
Warm fuzzy boxes and creatures
Tidy up

Arrive and afternoon tea
Energetic Game
Discussion on how children get home from school
Watch "Safely Home" supplied by New Zealand Police Youth Education Services
Discussion held on video how do they get home safely?
In small groups, plan and act out a scenario from the following topics:
- crossing the road safely
- safe cycling
- going to a friend’s place
- answering the phone
- answering the door
- not taking shortcuts


Each child given a Safely Home dice game to colour in and play
Discussion on ‘Safely Home’ booklets in conjunction with video
Hand out pamphlets

Cooking and Baking

Arrive and afternoon tea
Discussion on the days activities
Read recipes and begin
Work in teams to complete kitchen safety activities
Come together as a group and discuss aspects of the activity
